Bolton has a long history of care and attention to detail. It was named after one of the first ships to bring people to New Zealand, one being a young woman named Sophia Harris. Determined to bring over her favourite rose, Sophia transported a cutting in a potato, and nurtured it throughout the long journey. The rose survived because one resourceful woman thought of doing things differently. It’s that same spirit of independence that is the hallmark of everything Bolton. We treat our guests as individuals, providing them with comfort, privacy and care.
