In the dawn of everything “wedding” being more important than ever, and every last detail being taken into consideration, it’s only natural that transport features high on the list of priorities for eager brides and grooms who want their wedding to be chic, fabulous and of course to make a dazzling entrance. The wedding day transportation you choose can say a lot about you and your personal style, so it is important to choose something that you feel most comfortable with, not to mention proud of!

Everyone remembers how they got somewhere, the ride to a special place is symbiotic with the excited anticipation that goes with looking forward to something special, and adds to the full flavour of the day. Think of your first school ball, your first date, your first holiday – all these journeys were significant and arriving there was almost as good as the actual event. As they say, life is a journey not a destination, so why not make the most important journey of your life in style. Arriving at the church or ceremony with your girlfriends and beloved Dad in tow, and travelling for the first time as husband and wife… well the car that transports you must be carefully considered so that you get the most out of these amazing moments – think memories, comfort, fun and of course photographs!

The Limo Club are true experts in their field and can help make your wedding day a special, totally unforgettable and super entertaining experience for you and your bridal party. Today we chat with Seth Zorn from The Limo Club who fills us in on everything we need to know about this hot new company.

1. The Limo Club offers a range of cool options. In your opinion which is the best way for a bride and groom and their wedding party to travel on their wedding day?

We think Limos are great for weddings – they give you lots of space, are more comfortable than squeezing everyone into separate cars, and let the whole bridal party travel together. Your wedding day is a special day, and getting around in style is a must. Limos also offer great photo opportunities, especially when the weather’s bad.

2. Why choose the Limo Club – what sets you apart from the rest?
The Limo Club offers you the complete package – our drivers are polite, courteous, know their way around town and will get you from A to B in style. Not to mention you will turn a lot of heads along the way!

3. What special offers can you tempt us with?
The Limo Club runs a great offer, where return customers get 20% off their next hire.

4. Any other detail/information you’d like to share with us and our readers?
Hen’s/bachelorette parties are proving very popular right now – a pink hummer and champagne can provide the ultimate platform for an amazing girls’ night out. Of course stag parties are also on the rise with many guys taking this option, as it’s a social way to travel and awesome to get the party started en route. Also kids parties are also very trendy at the moment – we recently had a dozen thirteen year olds surprised with a ride to a nail salon and lazer strike in our Pink Hummer. And Christmas party bookings are already taking off – employers are surprising their staff with a drive from the office around town, stopping to do some fun shopping before arriving at their Christmas party venue. Hiring a limo means you can take the whole office together, everyone can have a good time and enjoy themselves, and no one gets stuck being the sober driver. Basically there’s a limo experience to suit everyone!

Helen Forster’s new boutique on Level 2, 85 Victoria Street Te Aro is light, spacious, easily accessible and just totally awesome. And of course it goes without saying that we took great delight in helping Helen toast to her fabulous new premises on Tuesday night. Guests were in for a real treat as the bubbly flowed and the happy chatter echoed on well into the night. The divine hors-d’oeuvres and signature rosebuds by Simply Food went down a treat and ensured everyone was well and truly looked after. And we shan’t forget about the darling handmade cookies by Decorarda, these were – as usual – simply amazing.

On this most special of evenings, it was plain to see how many fans, friends, supporters, admirers and loyal family Helen has, and it gave us great joy to see her new space so beautifully christened by so many well wishers.

Helen’s gorgeous designs are everywhere, both in sketch form as well as in reality – and the beautiful creations on display most certainly evoke the romance and excitement so fondly associated with weddings, and the sparkly shoes on standby for brides to try on simply scream glamour. I felt like a little girl in a dress up boutique, there’s just nothing better.

Helen’s incredible enthusiasm, easy and fun manner coupled with her professional can-do approach make this talented designer a must-visit for every bride to be. With a hot new central city work space and wedding season now in full swing Helen is busier than ever, but she welcomes new brides and loves nothing more than a no obligation consultation where the wheels can be set in motion, and little ideas can turn into big dreams… and best of all – an achievable reality!

8th September 2013: a glorious sunny day to be out and about in the coolest little capital, and many brides and grooms-to-be seemed to agree with us, for they flocked to this weekend’s not-to-be-missed event at Shed 6, The Wellington Wedding Show!

Gosh, we loved meeting so many cool couples, and it was a delight to hear of your plans and ideas. And of course it was an honour to present our lucky competition winners with their awesome prizes –there were so many happy and excited faces about the divine Antipodes products. You can see many of them for yourself below in our lengthy snapshot photo gallery. There’s just nothing like making someone’s day! Everyone also went ga-ga over the gorgeous biscuits by the amazing Decorada – if you got to try one you were very lucky, they ran out quickly!

And whilst there were many prizes that you could enter to win before and on the actual day (including the fabulous click/snap/bam competition that we are still running in conjunction with Salute Hair and Day Spa and The Amazing Travelling Photobooth on our Facebook page) the day was not only about that… it was about presenting brides and grooms (and their entourages!) with options, ideas and inspiration, and our wonderful exhibitors certainly did not disappoint. Every single exhibitor put an incredible amount of work into their stalls to show you a slice of their business and give you a taste of what it is they do. These people are the best in the business and we were so proud to have them all there. And despite our Spring Show being a slightly smaller, more boutique style show, the feedback has been consistent – everyone thought there was a good cross-section of suppliers and an amazing amount of ideas and choice available. Exhibitors and visitors alike felt that the slightly smaller show allowed for more time and quality of discussion, which gave way to a more relaxed pace. But regardless, the day simply flew by and whilst there were still droves of people and lines out the door at various times, the flow of people was staggered and the day just seemed to go seamlessly. We were so pleased, especially as everyone appeared to have so much fun, and at the end of the day that’s what it’s all about – enjoying this most special time of your lives and allowing those that know weddings best to help you along the way with your precious journey.

Come and have a look at our gallery of the shiny happy people that stopped by the MR &MRS stand – and feel free to tag/share our post if you know someone in our pictures! For more photos of the whole event check out our FB page – our talented team Jess O’Brien and Craig Christensen have taken some amazing photographs of exhibitors, visitors – the whole she-bang, so don’t miss those!

A good catering company is worth its weight in gold. There’s nothing more reassuring for a bride and groom than knowing that their guests are going to have a great time, enjoy themselves and rave about the food, rather than stopping off at McDonald’s on the way home! Tim Ward, passionate and talented owner of The Good Chemistry Catering Company, gets it and he wants to work together with you to wow your guests, no matter what your tastes, preferences, budget or venue choice – the options are endless here and it’s fair to say we are truly spoilt for choice with something for everyone! We love a hard worker and someone who is passionate about food, so let’s hear what Tim has to say…

1. Tim, how long have you had The Good Chemistry Catering Company and what was your inspiration for starting it?
Good Chemistry Catering has been running for three years and was inspired by a desire to create a special place with exceptional food and exceptional service, utilizing local resources and local talent which Wellington has an abundance of.

2. You have several venues – how would you describe them and what kind of couple/wedding would they best suit?

The Hunter Lounge is a large flexible space; it suits large weddings of all different styles and budgets. This venue has a dark sultry natural beauty which is brought to life instantly with a ceiling of festoon party lights.

Milk and Honey Café is light and bright stylish and modern with commanding views over Wellington City and a North facing sunny courtyard. Taking its name from the honey comb ceiling and white walls, Milk and Honey has our best culinary talent and can serve a range of menu design from a simple afternoon tea through to a multi course set menu.

3. What sort of packages can you offer brides and grooms?
We package menu choices, hire equipment, staffing and corkage and provide a per head price with no surprises. Our focus is to help guide our clients through the wedding experience by gently divulging our knowledge and offering support and service along the way, there are so many little tasks that need to be done on the day which can easily be taken on by our team, we are the first to arrive and the last to leave so let us work for you.

4. Best advice for couples getting married?

Plan for yourselves not anyone else, remember on the day to let go, what will be, will be! Allow your friends and family to pick up any slack. That is what they are there for.
