“Fashions fade but style is eternal” – Yves St Laurent

Weddings have never been more popular than they are now and creative brides just like YOU are using the opportunity to be unique, different as well as fashion-forward in their choice of ceremony, reception, decor and of course styling. Nothing is impossible anymore and that’s what makes weddings so much fun.

The #1 influence du jour is without a doubt The Great Gatsby! That movie has done wonders for reigniting olden day glamour and romance, and we have seen it reflected in many a stylish wedding this year. Swoon! And whilst that is certainly a strong style inspiration at present, there are other vintage eras and dress types which have taken our fancy as well. Anything romantic, lacy and/or sparkly seems to draw us in right now. We have literally been swimming in a dreamy sea of gorgeous images and ideas, so we have compiled our favourite things for you. We hope you like… here goes!

1. Headpieces, faux fur and lots of sparkly jewels – if you go vintage, art deco/1950s you can’t go wrong!

2. Sparkly gowns with satin, sequin and shimmer, lace and detail

3. Back detail and flowers crowns are big! Romantic vintage = love love love!

4. Men are important too – dapper and debonair is the order of the day! White suits, checks, walking sticks, fedoras, handkerchiefs, bow ties … it’s all on!

5. Colour is key – a pop of colour or a slightly different hue can add a touch of class, contrast and style

6. Mismatched bridesmaids dresses are all the rage, and differing lengths are ok too. Nothing beats mixing it up and creating a different and eclectic look that screams style without being too over the top!

7. Creating a party atmosphere is the secret to a wedding turning into the ultimate unforgettable party – all possible with the right lightning, music and champagne of course!
